The countdown to Devcom has begun this two-day conference starts 19th August 2018 and is followed by Gamescom taking place from 21st – 25th Aug at Cologne/Koelnmesse, Germany. Here are some quick tips, checks for trade visitors and mobile game app developers attending these events!
- Gamescom is Europe’s biggest trade fair for interactive games and entertainment. (Download Official app iOS, Android). The conference is divided into multiple areas, make sure you cover all the business
- Devcom is the primary game developers’ event at Gamescom, it is focused around game development, game publishing, networking and community building.
The event brings together industry experts and insiders who share their knowledge in the areas of Virtual Reality, Mobile Games, Business and Production, as well as Programming, Design, Monetization, etc. Devcom 18 will be attended by leading game companies like Pixonic, Electronic Arts, Headup Games, Tivola Publishing GmbH, Ubisoft Blue Byte to name a few.

Women in Games 2018
This Devcom networking event provides a forum for women aspirants of the video game industry. It enables attendees to make new contacts, share perspectives, and learn about new opportunities in our jobs and in the industry from amongst the wide gathering. It starts on Monday, August 20th at 3 pm and features designated mentors who will be available for ad hoc mentoring sessions (career questions, advice on resumes/portfolios, etc.). Devcom NRW Indie Area
It offers independent studios the opportunity to present their projects to an expert audience. You get an opportunity to get in touch with publishers and investors, talk to members of the press and receive feedback from Europe’s most experienced gaming professionals. Playable game projects will be invited to showcase at Devcom.
Gamescom Congress 2018
Revolving around digital games and an interface to other cultural and creative industries as well as to the digital economy, this year’s Gamescom congress is scheduled for Wednesday, 22 Aug. The focal areas of the Congress are knowledge, business, gamification, legal & life. Gamescom is open for trade visitors between 21-23 Aug while attendance is restricted from 24-25 Aug

The event is expected to have more than 700 participants from various sports business sectors, classic and new media, and eSport.
This conference focuses on the interface between the gaming and sports business industries, considers the latest topics of relevance to both worlds, and brings the top decision-makers from the different industries together. The event is to be held on 20th August in Cologne.
