Everyone, please be introduced to Tarun Sharma, Senior Software Engineer at our Gurugram office. You will find him busy coding and building new features for Chocolate. Time to familiarize Tarun to others in his own words!
- What does your job entail?
I have been a part of Chocolate since 2013, currently working as Senior Software Engineer. I am responsible for developing new the features for Chocolate Exchange, am role also involves testing and analysis of the features being rolled out. I am well versed on different coding languages like Java, Golang, PHP and Python so I am the ‘Coding Guru’ at Chocolate. - Tell us about your background prior to joining Chocolate
Prior to Chocolate, I was working for SAAS company. I created multiple of web and mobile applications for that organization. My previously roles have helped me hone my development & coding skills which are very handy at my current role at Chocolate. - What are your interests outside of work? What do you prefer doing on weekends?
I enjoy long drives, just pick up my car and drive to places which I haven’t explored before. I am also a video games addict, playing games on my console is what you’ll find me doing over weekends. - What is the best meal you have ever had and where?
I love home-cooked meals, they taste the best & are absolutely delicious. My favourite food is aalo parantha, kheer & gajar ka halwa (yes, I have a sweet tooth ?). - What motivates you to get going every morning?
Before going to bed at night I set my targets for the next day, I always try & achieve for more which motivates me & keeps me going. Another inspiration for me are the smiling faces of my children, their innocence is my stimulus. - Your favourite moment with the Chocolate team so far?
My favourite moment was when I was awarded the ‘Star Award’ at the annual Town Hall in 2014 for Developing new & innovative features. It was a moment of pride & glory. - Which place you would like to visit if given a chance
I have been thinking about exploring India for a while. My list of international destinations is also pretty long. I like places with beautiful islands, beaches and hills, any suggestions any one? - Which apps are keeping you engage nowadays?
There are two gaming apps that I am really enjoying “Atomas” & “SubwaySurfer”. - Things that you like about Chocolate/Company?
I love the company’s overall environment, friendly co-workers, supportive colleagues. All in all the organization has a congenial work environment. - One movie you loved watching in recent times?
“The Man Who Knew Infinity”, it’s a brilliant movie about the Indian mathematician – Srinivasa Ramanujan.
